Takata Airbag in Honda Recall 2017 – Takata systems have been responsible for 11 deaths and over 100 injuries around the world

Honda has been involved with the majority of the Takata Airbag Defect and this week it adds more than 772 thousand defective Takata airbags that are installed on their vehicle for a safety recall.  Readers of this update are encouraged to look up if their vehicle is affected by this recall at safecar.gov by entering your vehicle unique VIN number.

“With as high as a 50% chance of a dangerous airbag inflator ruptured in a crash, these vehicles are unsafe and need to be repaired immediately,” U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx said at the time. “Folks should not drive these vehicles unless they are going straight to a dealer to have them repaired immediately, free of charge.”

The Honda vehicles affected by Takata Airbag Defect Recall:

  • 2005 to 2006 Acura MDX
  • 2005 to 2012 Acura RL
